Silly Monkey Baby now has a kiosk open at Northbrook Court Mall in Illinois!  I keep laughing with my husband that it has been 11 years since I have been out of high school, I’m 36 weeks pregnant and NOW I get a mall job.  As great as it feels to be available at numerous retailers it also feels good to promote my own product in my own way.

    If you happen to be at Northbrook Court please stop by and visit.  We are near Neiman Marcus right outside of the Juicy store.  The BabyHug is perfect for all the prego mamas out there because it makes life with a newborn easy!

  4. During the second week of October, we attended the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas.  It was so exciting to take part in this huge event because it is the biggest show of the year.  The show turned out to be a total success!  We met lots of great people and made lots of great connections.  MomsTown TV even did a special on the BabyHug and me as a mom entreprenuer.  The feedback was incredible and the BabyHug got lots of needed exposure.  I’m so excited for next year’s show.  We already booked our spot which will be bigger, better, stronger, and everything else that comes along with being really excited for a year from now :)

    I can’t believe how many new and neat baby products are out there.  Our kids are currently 4 years old and 18 months and wow have things changed already.  The best part is that baby #3 is due in a month so I got to splurge because I “had” to.  :)

  5. Count down to Vegas

    So we are leaving for Vegas to do the ABC Kids Expo on Friday night.  I’m starting to get so nervous…. 33 weeks prego and flying (don’t tell my doc because I’m not telling either), leaving my 2 kiddies with the in-laws for almost a week (first time they will be over nighting it with both kids), and of course the success of and outcome of the show itself.  They say it is the biggest and best Kids expo of the year - I hope “they” are right because there is tons of energy going into this.  Being this far along pregnant with 2 other kiddies under the age of 4, I definitely do not have too much more energy to give up.

  6. I’m so excited!

    Today I did an event at Baby Dreams, a super cute baby boutique in Highland Park, IL.  The event was to introduce their new line of great fitting jeans for all little tushies called “love my tush.”  They sold like crazy!!  I got to promote my own product the BabyHug and I got great feedback - definitely a great boost of energy after a long day.  To add to all the excitement, we got picked up by Baby Dreams and now they care our BabyHugs too.  Woo Hoo! Also CityMommy.com and Patch.com of Highland Park are each writing a segment about our product!! Wow I’m so excited.  To celebrate I’m giving myself the evening off and doing absolutely nothing….. ahhh. Kids are asleep and now its just the husb, me, some fresh made fries and the TV. Life is good :)

  7. Off to preschool she goes…

    Today my sweet little Kaya started preschool.  Well, actually she had a 15 minute “hello visit” last week and then she has 2 1 hour visits this week and next week finalllly we start the real thing.  Kaya has been going to imaginary preschool for well over a year now so I’m excited to see what she thinks about her “new school.” ;)

    Its nice that they really want to ease the kids into going to school but what can mama really do for 1 hour?! Total tease.  I managed to run into a store and buy a soap dispenser, thats right, 1 hour of free time and all I have to show for it is a soap dispenser.  At least its a soap dispenser for the powder room so more people will be able to admire it.

    On Friday we got picked up by the the cutest baby boutique in Chicago!  It is called Bellybum Boutique and its a total baby hotspot.  They have an amazing selection of eco-friendly must-haves that are stylish and fun for both mamas and babies. 

  9. There is a dead squirrel next to the tree in front of our house. Its so nasty that its almost scary to go to my mailbox which is 10 feet away from it.  I wish Chris was home already to clean it up.  My 17 year old brother stopped by and I asked him to take care of it but he just laughed and said “no way!”  Now I’m stuck staring out the front window every 10 minutes to make sure it has not moved or started attacking people yet!

  10. Day 2 of the Chicago Market - a little extra lighting, a few booth rearrangements, and we were in business! I met so many great contacts and the BabyHug got picked up by a few stores! WooHoo! What a great feeling especially after all the nightmares I had about not even selling one. To end my day I got approached by a woman who kindly asked me if I was really pregnant or if I was just wearing a strap-on belly to help increase sales of the BabyHug?! Hahahahaha crazy lady! That would be funny though if I did really have a strap-on belly that I took off at the end of the day, threw it under the table and went to grab a cocktail :)
